third shot // accidental video for route 30; action for cherrygrove
VIDEO; mid-morning, route 30
[When the video feed comes on, the first thing anyone will see (though slightly obscured by bug-sized footprints on the camera lense) is:

Watchers will also be greeted by the sound of a Pokemon crying. No, really, crying - the Caterpie is wailing miserably. Chris, unaware that her Gear has been activated, seems to be both trying to catch the Caterpie and comfort it.]
Stop crying! It won't help anything!
[Try is the key word, though. She reaches for it, and it darts away. Given something to compare Caterpie's size to (that is, Chris), it seems especially small, as if just a baby.]
Come on, now! Are you lost? Hey-! Somebody probably caught your parents! Or something...
[Caterpie pauses in the crying as Chris finally manages to catch it hand pick it up... then starts up again, loud as ever.]
Alright, alright! I'll take care of you! Just stop that crying!
ACTION; evening, cherrygrove.
[It's late evening, and the sun's starting to set. Chris is sulking on the beach of Cherrygrove, with Caterpie now dozing in her lap. Once she managed to get it a little calmer, she decided to head back to Cherrygrove to take it to the center and heal it up, just in case. Luckily, she was less than a day away from Cherrygrove, so she managed to get there before dark. Chris won't notice anybody's presence unless they bring attention to themselves (though MDM, her Absol, laying a few feet away from her, might - but he'll just lift his head and look at you), as she's deep in thought.]

Certain others with her, however, have no such qualms.
SUDDENLY, A COLD, WET, RED NOSE IN THE SMALL OF YOUR BACK, CHRIS.
Arrow the Poochyena says hello!]
[action]
Wh-?!
[Oh, Kanade. That person she just tried to ditch.]
Control your Pokemon!
[MDM seems amused. Caterpie, scared and startled, curls close against Chris.]
[action]
Nice spot you've got here, huh? Good for thinking.
[action]
[Why, you-! But Caterpie cries a little, and Chris glances down, honestly concerned. It's... not a look she wears often.]
[action]
Digging into her pocket, she pulls out a piece of candy and offers it without glancing over again, swatting Arrow's nose away from it.]
Here. Split it.

Ah...
It doesn't seem to be hurt.
It's so small... Maybe it's just a child...
[Then she tries addressing the Caterpie, gently.]
Shhh, it's all right, easy... I'm sure she'll help you, it'll be all right. You're going to be okay.
[Caterpie doesn't really understand the concept of a PokeGear, but understands enough to look into the camera when it hears a voice. Its wailing dies down a little, and it watches Fluttershy's image. It still sniffles and whines "Pie... piieeeeee", though.
Chris, on the other hand, looks both baffled and rather impressed.]
There now... it's okay. We're all friends here. You must be exhausted from all that crying... Would you like something to eat? Maybe the nice human with you has something.

Eh~? You almost sound jealous! Trouble with your own? If it's worse than this, you must be a complete failure.

Why listen to that wailing if all you're gonna do is make a stupid, sarcastic comment about it?!
[Her smirk breaks when Caterpie's whining picks up again, and it seems on the verge of crying. She has to hush it and comfort it to keep it from wailing again.]

I.. Ah... right. Lower my voice...
[To Caterpie, almost gently] Okay, uh... stop crying.

That... would depend on if you have anything you can try feeding to it.

why would anyone want to catch a bug
but at least... seeing it through her device... makes it slightly less intolerable for makoto... ]
Uh... i, is it... that thing... okay now...?
[video] (after Caterpie has calmed down)
Yeah. It's stopped crying.
And it's called a- [She checks the Dex again quickly] -Caterpie, not "that thing".
[
be nice to her baby][video]
[ no she can't say it! saying its name makes her imagine it, and imagining it makes her freak out a bit!
...even if she had no idea what it's name was a few minutes ago. she just shakes her head. ]
Um... congratulations, then!
You're not scared of a little bug, are you?
