third shot // accidental video for route 30; action for cherrygrove
VIDEO; mid-morning, route 30
[When the video feed comes on, the first thing anyone will see (though slightly obscured by bug-sized footprints on the camera lense) is:

Watchers will also be greeted by the sound of a Pokemon crying. No, really, crying - the Caterpie is wailing miserably. Chris, unaware that her Gear has been activated, seems to be both trying to catch the Caterpie and comfort it.]
Stop crying! It won't help anything!
[Try is the key word, though. She reaches for it, and it darts away. Given something to compare Caterpie's size to (that is, Chris), it seems especially small, as if just a baby.]
Come on, now! Are you lost? Hey-! Somebody probably caught your parents! Or something...
[Caterpie pauses in the crying as Chris finally manages to catch it hand pick it up... then starts up again, loud as ever.]
Alright, alright! I'll take care of you! Just stop that crying!
ACTION; evening, cherrygrove.
[It's late evening, and the sun's starting to set. Chris is sulking on the beach of Cherrygrove, with Caterpie now dozing in her lap. Once she managed to get it a little calmer, she decided to head back to Cherrygrove to take it to the center and heal it up, just in case. Luckily, she was less than a day away from Cherrygrove, so she managed to get there before dark. Chris won't notice anybody's presence unless they bring attention to themselves (though MDM, her Absol, laying a few feet away from her, might - but he'll just lift his head and look at you), as she's deep in thought.]

[action]
[Arrow takes this opportunity to, though she's been a good girl for the visit, start barking incessantly. You were rude to her trainer! ARF ARF ARF ARF]
[action]
Caterpie, frightened, wriggles against Chris.]
...At least your dog's straightforward!
[action]
[Rumpling Arrow behind the ears, she flicks the Poochyena's nose for scaring small children. Down, girl!]
She's loudest when she's least sure of herself.
[action]
[She sits down, and leans back to rest on MDM a little - who is, luckily for Chris, a little ways away from Kanade. It's not like she's hanging out with you, or anything!]
[action]
Don't we, huh?
[Arrow gives her a sulky look, but her tail wags and she butts her head against Kanade's shoulder. This act of violence apparently means "I require pettins", as that's what results from the exchange.]
Even so, I'm impressed. Yours are really blossoming, aren't they?
[action]
Hah, of course! I won't let them be weak and defenseless around here.
[action]
[She nods along.]
Take care of yourself! Believe in yourself! And the next thing you know, you're flying anywhere!
....though this isn't - that bad a place to grow up.
[action]
[-Her own?
Caterpie settles into her lap, and she pats it gently.]
...They're lucky, to have people like me. Like...
[action]
[Arrow collapses onto her side, flopping roughly onto her back for tummy scratchings. Kanade obliges absently.]
Give yourself that kinda credit. You deserve it.
[action]
[Now she's really annoyed. MDM watches her closely, with a "what are you going to do this time" sort of look. She sets Caterpie on MDM's back and jumps to her feet.]
You treat this whole place like it's a joke!
[action]
[Kanade flops back into the grass and crosses her arms behind her head. Arrow takes this opportunity to butt her chest some more.]
There's a darkness to anyplace you go. But you stare too long at that, you start losing your sight.
[She sighs and smiles, though somebody's retort from before is ringing in her head. An entire universe somewhere, blown up.....
And yet, Kanade relaxes and grins.]
If I'm gonna go blind, I wanna be staring instead at the sun. Running forward, up toward the sky.
[action]
[granted, Chris hardly knows what her plan is. The same- destroy all those who can and will fight? But there are those who can, but still take time to do good things... Argh, she's so confused!
But she knows she has to do something!]
[action]
Nah. Acknowledge it.
Embrace what I like.
Punch out what I don't!
[Kanade grins almost conspiratorially. She's borrowing this philosophy heavily from a guy who taught her some martial arts once.]
Whatever, it keeps me sleepin' at night.
[action]
[Her fists clench. MDM looks up at her, concerned.]
You have to destroy everything wrong if you want any real results!
[action]
[She sounds like she honestly wants to know.]
[action]
What would you know! You could never possibly understand!
[And then she rushes off.
MDM reaches to gently pick up Caterpie and carry the baby, then lopes off after Chris.]
[action]
You're a good Trainer and a better person, Yukine Chris. Just a little mixed up sometimes.]
....you're gonna snap someday.
[That's a quiet muse to herself, more finishing an unspoken thought than an actual prophecy, before she folds a piece of grass in half and starts trying to make music with it.]
